Faros da Ría was born as a different kind of tourism proposal—one committed to sustainability, the local environment, and respect for the maritime culture of Cangas. We are a young initiative, led by local female entrepreneurs, firmly convinced that a different way of traveling and building is possible. This section tells our story, introduces our partnerships and commitments, and highlights the public support that has helped make this dream a reality.

Faros da Ría is a sustainable tourist apartment project located in the heart of the Ría de Vigo, driven by a deep passion for the Galician coast and the need to offer more responsible tourism alternatives. The initiative began in 2023 with the goal of transforming a family home into an environmentally conscious lodging that promotes the local economy and celebrates the culture of the sea.
From its architectural design—based on Passive House standards—to the use of recycled and repurposed materials, every aspect of the project has been developed with environmental impact in mind. We believe in a tourism model where visitors feel like part of the place, not just spectators.
Our commitment goes far beyond energy efficiency. Faros da Ría actively collaborates with local associations and projects to create a positive impact that reaches beyond tourism.
We’ve signed partnership agreements with entities such as Pesca Subrido S.L., to promote activities related to coastal fishing and raise awareness about responsible fish consumption; Redeiras do Baixo Miño Atalaia, to incorporate local handmade crafts into our apartments and; ANPA Compañía de María, to develop environmental education initiatives and beach cleanup activities.
We believe in a business model rooted in the local area, with partnerships that promote fairer, more balanced, and sustainable development. Our commitment is strong: we want the success of the project to directly contribute to improving the quality of life in our region.
